America Movil Order ROK Powered Mobile TV Be installed On Mobile Devices At Point of Manufacture

ROK Global PLC, the mobile, web and industrial technology, applications and services company, has announced its Mobile TV service, which it provides under the brand ‘Ideas TV’ to America Movil Operators in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, and Panama, will now be pre-installed as an embedded application on many millions of handsets and devices.

Mexico-based America Movil have 16 operating companies across Central and Southern America with a combined total of more than 250 million subscribers.

Compatible with Blackberry devices, Android smartphones and Symbian devices, Ideas TV offers an average of 10 TV channels per service, covering news, sports, music and entertainment, and is available for a monthly subscription fee equivalent to between USD $6.00 and $10.00 with daily and weekly payment options also available.

Commenting, Jonathan Kendrick, Chairman of ROK said “America Movil is a major customer for ROK TV’s unique technology which enables the streaming of high quality live and on-demand TV to more than 350 compatible mobile phones over their existing mobile networks, so we are delighted that America Movil have now instructed their device manufacturers to pre-install the application at point of manufacture on compatible handsets. This will result in a massive increase in subscriber numbers going forward.”
