ROK Global PLC, the technology applications and services company, has today announced it has teamed-up with Piershore and Qello in a unique collaboration to create branded applications for BlackBerry devices distributed via Orascom’s new Mobile Bananas app store and 14 of its mobile networks in the Middle East and Africa and via BlackBerry App World™ to over 127 countries and multiple operators therein.
Offering up to 8 music genres including Pop, Rock, Jazz, Hip Hop, Blues, Metal, Classic Rock and Alternative, the ROK-built, Qello-branded app will be available for download priced at $2.99 and includes a 6 month subscription wherein consumers are able watch high quality video over Wi-fi, 3G and mass-market 2.5G GPRS, for an ‘anytime, anywhere’ experience on over 40 compatible BlackBerry devices.
Piershore enables content owners to distribute their content through its direct partnerships with mobile operators such as Orascom and other operators in many other countries worldwide.
Qello is a digital syndication service providing music entertainment content in association with leading media companies as well as artists and creative entities. ROK‘s experience in Mobile TV, particularly working with America Movil to provide its ROK TV service across 11 countries, has enabled it to develop video streaming applications compatible with more than 370 mobile devices.
Listed on the Open Market of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, ROK Global PLC was co-founded by US Billionaire John Paul DeJoria and UK-based serial technology-specialist entrepreneur, Jonathan Kendrick. In addition to being co-founder of ROK, John Paul DeJoria is Chairman and CEO of John Paul Mitchell Systems and is also co-founder of Patron Tequila, the world's leading premium tequila brand.
ROK has pioneered many new and innovative technologies in the rapidly-evolving mobile and web space, including high quality mass-market Mobile TV (which can be streamed, live and on-demand, over mass-market 2.5G as well as 3G and Wi-Fi) as well as multi-language text-to-speech technologies and mobile security and policing technologies, amongst others.
