ROK Continues Dynamic Deployment of Multi-Language Text-to-Speech Technologies

ROK Global PLC, the  mobile and web technology, applications and services company, has announced further deployments of ROK Talk, its multi-language text-to-speech conversion and translation technology for websites to REL Consultancy, Delia Online and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation.

ROK Talk, already licensed to more than 100 local government authorities, police forces and health trusts across the UK as well as with 75 schools and colleges and with Blue Chip customers such as Aviva Ireland, is designed to enhance website accessibility and usability through converting written text on websites into real-time audible speech in a variety of major languages.

Commenting on the adoption of ROK Talk, Gavin Swindell, Managing Director of REL Consultancy said “It’s important for REL, operating globally with major international clients, for the written text on our website to be easily converted into several languages, audibly, as this dramatically enhances the usability of our website in a highly cost-effective manner.”

ROK Global PLC, listed on the Open Market of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, was co-founded by John Paul DeJoria and Jonathan Kendrick and has pioneered many new technologies in the rapidly-evolving mobile and web space, including high quality mass-market Mobile TV (which can be streamed, live and on-demand, over  mass-market 2.5G as well as 3G and Wi-Fi) as well as mobile security technologies designed for use by law enforcement agencies in addition to multi-language text-to-speech conversion technologies.

John Paul DeJoria is Chairman and CEO of John Paul Mitchell Systems, the producer and manufacturer of Paul Mitchell hair  care products which achieves in-salon retail sales of approximately US $900m annually through more than 100,000 salons worldwide.  In addition, amongst other interests, John Paul is co-founder of Patron Tequila, the worlds leading premium  tequila brand.

“It is very pleasing to see the on-going adoption of ROK Talk by a broad spectrum of commercial companies, municipal authorities and charities, not just because we believe ROK Talk is a useful business tool for every organisation with a website, but because it also enhances website usability for those with vision impairments, severe dyslexia and for those who are unable to read a website if it is not written in their language.” Said Jonathan Kendrick, Chairman of ROK.
